Early blight of tomato typically first shows symptoms on the leaves, with lesions spreading from the lower to the upper parts of the plant and increasing in number over time. In the early stage, the symptoms are inconspicuous; by the time the lesions coalesce into larger patches and spraying is initiated, it is often already too late. Therefore, frequent field scouting is essential—apply the first fungicide spray as soon as lesions are first observed on the tomato plants, thereby suppressing the pathogen at its source.
Mancozeb 30% Mancozeb Suspension Concentrate (SC), Registration No. PD20093363 (subject to the actual label). Primarily used for the control of tomato early blight. Apply at a rate of 240–320 mL per mu (667 m²) diluted in water for foliar spray. Initiate application at the early stage of disease onset, and a follow-up spray may be applied at intervals of 7–10 days depending on disease severity. Ensure sufficient water volume and thoroughly wet the affected plant parts for complete coverage.
Prolonged consecutive use of fungicides such as mancozeb suspension concentrate can readily induce pathogen resistance. It is recommended to rotate with fungicides of different modes of action.
